Beacon Falls-Devin B. Skelton, age 55, husband of Elisabeth (Neskovic) Skelton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday August 14, 2016 in Falmouth, Mass.

Devin was born in San Francisco, CA on February 10, 1961, son of the late Lamar and Callie (Roby) Skelton.  He was a Beacon Falls resident for the past 18 years.

Devin was a tirelessly passionate man.  He loved the outdoors and the strength of his body.  This led him from bug collecting and extreme sledding in Montana in his early years through scuba diving and volleyball, where he met his amazing wife, Lis.  Later, he turned to reducing his carbon footprint, working with trees and plants in his yard, planting gardens on his roof, and photographing wildlife he encountered.  His latest passion was his velomobile.  He was finally able to stop using a car for most of his traveling, and the “Batmobile” was the perfect way to spread awareness about emissions and their impact on our environment.  Plus, it was pretty cool.  He leaves behind children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews who will miss his monster bubbles and a neighborhood in Beacon Falls who will miss his snow sculptures.

Besides his wife of 25 years, Devin is survived by his daughters, Amanda George and Eric of Springfield, VT, and Tabatha Doiron and Scott of Amesbury, MA; his step son Daniel Ramadanovic of West Palm, FL; his brothers, Roch Skelton and Damon Skelton; his sisters, Robin Ansley and Dawn Skelton; his grandchildren, Adrienne, Elisabeth (Ellie) and Lilith; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday August 20, 2016 from 12p.m. to 1:30p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck, followed by a funeral service at 1:30p.m.    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Rails to Trails, Northeast Regional Office, 2133 Market Street, Suite 222, Camp Hill, PA 17011, or the Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Avenue, Nebraska City, NE 68410, in Devin’s honor.  To send an on-line condolence, please visit www.naugatuckvalleymemorial.com
