Donald Joseph Barth, aged 85, passed away on January 5, 2016, at the Middlebury Convalescent Home, with his family by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Nora (Curtin) Barth for 61 years.

Donald was born in Waterbury, on August 3, 1931, to Edwin and Josephine (Lawlor) Barth.

He retired from Anamet Metal Hose Company after 42 years of service. He was the Credit Manager and Transportation Manager.

He graduated from St. Mary’s Grammar School and Sacred Heart High School.

Don was a proud veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict.

His fondest years were spent with his children in the Naugatuck Fife and Drum Corp., Boy Scouting, and all of his grandchildren’s activities.

Donald was a member of The St. Vincent Choir, The Holy Name Society, and a volunteer driver for The Harold Leever Cancer Center.

Donald is survived by his children:  Brian, from Mill Valley, CA., Timothy, from Astoria, N.Y., Eileen Weckesser, of Columbia, MD., and Mary Ellen, of Naugatuck. He is also survived by his four grandchildren:  Olivia, Laura, Katherine, and Connor.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers:  Edwin, Gerald, Jon, and Joseph.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Donald’s memory may be made to St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 1006 New Haven Rd., Naugatuck, CT, 06770.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 10, at 10:30 am, at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 1006 New Haven Rd., Naugatuck. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial to follow at St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck.
