James R. Stewart, 69, of Bethany, CT, passed away unexpectedly at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury on January 8, 2017.
He was born in Waterbury, CT, on November 11, 1947, the son of the late Clifford R. and Florence (Beaulieu) Stewart.
James graduated from Brunswick High School in Maine with the class of 1966. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam, working as a jet mechanic.
He was employed by Truelove & Maclean as a tool and die maker for 35 years, retiring in 2002. James married Ann M. Conte on October 17, 1970, in Keyport, NJ. He enjoyed many years of duckpin bowling, playing in various leagues with his son Matt at Perillo’s, and Highland Bowl in Cheshire.
Survivors include his beloved wife Ann, his daughter Jennifer and her husband Greg of Big Flats, NY, son Matthew and his girlfriend Traci of Naugatuck, his brother William H. Stewart of Livermore Falls, Maine, stepbrother Donald LaCasse of Brunswick, Maine, his uncle David Stewart of Prospect, CT , and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was predeceased by his parents and his step-mother Florence LaCasse Stewart.
He was loved by all.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Mary”s Church, 338 North Main St., Naugatuck, on Friday, January 13, at 10:30 am. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church.
