Jane (Fitzgerald) Kelly

WATERBURY- Jane (Fitzgerald) Kelly, 87, of Waterbury, died peacefully Thursday  February 8th, 2018  at the home of her daughter with her loving family beside her. She was the widow of John R. Kelly Sr..

Jane was born in Waterbury July 26th, 1930, daughter of the late John “Jacko” and Susan L. (Shanahan) Fitzgerald. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing. She  was a Registered Nurse for Waterbury Schools , working  at Tinker, St Josephs and Mt. Carmel. Jane was active in the Democratic party in local politics in the 1970s and 1980s. She was also an avid traveler, especially with her friends Shirley and Lorrie. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church.

She leaves her son and daughter in law John R. and Desiree Kelly Jr. of Waterbury; daughters and sons in law Susan K. and Neil O’Donnell of Northfield and Maureen K. and Randy Buell of Waterbury; grandchildren Erin Farrell, Kelly Smith, Nicole Geanacopoulos, Kara Adams, Stephanie Lebel, and Ryan Buell; the loves of her life  great grandchildren Allison, Emily, Lexi and Nathan; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS-Funeral will leave Naugatuck Valley Memorial Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street Naugatuck Monday at 9:00 A.M. for St. Francis Xavier Church in Waterbury for Mass at 9:30. Burial will follow in Old Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home  Sunday  from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
