John "Jack" Tedesco, Jr.

Thomaston-John “Jack” Tedesco, 85, of Thomaston, formerly of Naugatuck died Thursday February 28th, 2019 at Vitas Hospice Unit of St. Mary’s Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Shirley (Gagnon) Tedesco. John is predeceased by his only other sibling, Joan Valiante.

Jack was born in Naugatuck (Union City), Ct. June 30th, 1933, son of the late John and Mary (Nowocienski) Tedesco.  John grew up in Naugatuck and went into the Navy at age 17 where he served in the Korean War.  He attended college at Bryant and received a degree in finance.  John worked many years for the State of Connecticut as an auditor and after retiring from the state, he took a position as a controller for the town of Naugatuck. 

Jack loved to spend time with his friends and family.  He appreciated a corny joke, a good debate (he was always right) and a win at the casino.  He especially loved to spend time with his many grandchildren; sharing special bonds with each and every one of them.

John leaves behind 3 daughters and one son; Teri Raftery and husband Stephen of Apex, North Carolina, Christine Boisvert and husband David of Watertown, CT, John Tedesco III and wife Elizabete of Naugatuck, CT and Jacklyn Breier and husband Joseph of Thomaston, CT.  He also will be missed by his 8 grandchildren: Chelsea Raftery, Sarah Raftery, Nicole (Boisvert) Olson, Natalie Boisvert, John Tedesco IV, Troy Tedesco, Levi Breier and Samantha Breier.  John will also leave 2 great grandchildren: Magdelena Olson and Logan Plourde.

Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday March 5, 2019 at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street,  Naugatuck .
