M. Dorothy (Parker) Legere

Naugatuck-M.  Dorothy (Parker) Legere, age 85, passed away peacefully on Friday May 15, 2015 at Beacon Brook Health Center.  She was widow of Joseph Gerard Legere.

Mrs. Legere was born in Naugatuck, CT on October 14, 1929, daughter of the late Lawrence and Catherine (McDermott) Parker.  A lifelong resident of Naugatuck, she retired from Lewis Engineering.  Dorothy was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, a member of the Naugatuck Women’s Club, Naugatuck Senior Center, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Purple Heart Auxiliary, and Disabled Veterans Auxiliary.

She is survived by her three sisters, Ruth Beatrice of Florida, Nancy Misenti of Waterbury, and Jean Russell of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Legere was predeceased by her son Lawrence Legere, and her two sisters, Elaine Porto and Virginia Migliaro.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday May 19, 2015 at 9:15a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck, to St. Mary’s Church, 338 North Main Street, Naugatuck, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00a.m.  Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5-7p.m.  To send an on-line condolence, please visit www.naugatuckvalleymemorial.com
