NAUGATUCK - Manuel M. de Campos, age 82, husband of Albertina (Vaz) de Campos, passed away on Sunday December 14, 2014 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.
 
Mr. de Campos was born in Portugal on January 2, 1932, son of the late Augusto and Piedade (de Jesus) de Campos.  He had lived most of his life in Naugatuck, and he retired from Garden Homes Management in Stamford.  He was a member of the Naugatuck Portuguese Club, enjoyed soccer, and especially spending time with grandchildren.  He was a true Sportinguista.  He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
 
Besides his loving wife of 56 years, he leaves his children, Maria Campos and her husband Manuel Coelho of Union, NJ, Piedade ‘Debbie’ Monteiro and her husband José Carlos Monteiro of Naugatuck, Domingos Campos and Francine Nido of Naugatuck; sisters, Esperança de Campos of Portugal and Maria Albertina Nunes and her husband Victor of Florida; grandchildren, Carlos Monteiro and his wife Jordana Dixon, Monica Dmuchowski and her husband Steven, Kaitlin Campos, Paulo Monteiro, and Alexander Campos; great-grandchildren, Sofia Dmuchowski and Lucas Monteiro; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brothers, Goncalo and João; a great-grandson, Nelson.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 10a.m. Our Lady of Fatima Church, Baldwin Street, Waterbury.  Attendees are asked to meet directly at the church at 9:45a.m.  Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck.  Calling hours will be held at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck on Wednesday from 5-7p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, P.O.
