Marta Stella (Arszyla) LaCharity

Naugatuck-Marta Stella (Arszyla) LaCharity, age 88, passed away peacefully on Friday March 20, 2015 surrounded by her family.  She was widow of Peter D. LaCharity.

Marta was born in Bridgeport, CT on July 29, 1926, daughter of the late John and Ann (Pichele) Arszyla.  She was a longtime Naugatuck resident and retired from Risdon Manufacturing after many years of service.  She was a member of the Naugatuck Women’s Club and Naugatuck Senior Center.  She enjoyed spending time at the beach and was an avid UCONN women’s basketball fan.

Marta leaves her three sons, Bruce LaCharity and his wife Pam of Naugatuck, Paul LaCharity and his wife Shirley of Waterbury, and Peter LaCharity and his wife Leslie of Southbury; her four daughters, Susan Moss and her husband Bob of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Nancy Sumoski and her husband Mark of Newington, Gail Adamaitis and her husband Ray of Waterbury, and Christine Winslow and her husband Keith of Naugatuck; twelve grandchildren, Kerry and Eric LaCharity, Bobby and Jesse Moss, Danielle Sumoski, Jason Nelson, Melissa and Christian LaCharity, Noah and Saige Winslow, Bobby Plourde, Nicole Barry; six great grandchildren, Kevin, JR, Bobby, Brielle, Ben and Makena.  She was predeceased by her grandson Kevin Demers, and three brothers and three sisters.

Her funeral will be held on Friday March 27, 2015 at 10a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck.  Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-8p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to VITAS Innovative Hospice Care, 199 Park Road Extension, Suite 102, Middlebury, CT 06762.
