Naugatuck-Mildred D. (Wooster Caulfield) Clark, age 97, passed away peacefully at Glendale Health Center on Saturday June 17, 2017 surrounded by her family.

Ms. Clark was born in Waterbury, CT on July 8, 1919, daughter of the late John J. and Anna (Barrett) Wooster.  A longtime resident of Waterbury and surrounding towns, Mildred retired from a career at Waterbury Hospital.

Mildred positively touched the lives of everyone she met-be it family, friends, or strangers alike.  Mildred was a caring and selfless individual who quietly helped anyone she could.  She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Waterbury where she sang for many years in the parish choir and was a devoted member of the UMC of Waterbury Women’s Group.  Mildred also enjoyed gardening and crocheting, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

Mildred lived 97 years with faith, kindness, generosity and optimism.  She will be greatly missed by all, but comfort is found in knowing she has been reunited with loved ones who have passed, especially her twin and best friend, Millicent Breen.

She is survived by her son, David Caulfield and his wife Margaret “Mickey” of Cape May, NJ; her daughters, Janet Sagendorf and her husband Robert of Naugatuck and Patricia Helsley of Waterbury; her five granddaughters, Elizabeth Campanella, Susan Caulfield, Lindsey Meyer, Amber Helsley, and Bridget Helsley; and many nieces and nephews.  Mildred was predeceased by her son, Larry Caulfield; her first husband, John Caulfield: her second husband, Raymond Clark; her siblings, twin sister Millicent, Helen, John Jay, and Howard.

A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday June 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 250 Country Club Road, Waterbury.  Visitation will be held on Saturday prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church Choir Fund, 250 Country Club Road, Waterbury, CT 06708.  The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, is assisting the family with arrangments.   To send an on-line condolence, please visit www.naugatuckvalleymemorial.com
