Beacon Falls—Mildred M. (Proch) Jurzynski, age 84, beloved wife of Raymond Jurzynski Sr., passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 26, 2017.

She was born in Seymour, CT on January 15, 1933, a daughter of the late Paul and Mary Proch. Millie was a graduate of Seymour High School class of 1950 and was active on many reunion committees. A longtime Beacon Falls resident, she served as Tax Collector for the town and was a member of the Democratic Town Committee. Millie was a member of the original Laurel Ledge PTA, where she served as president.  Millie also worked in the Laurel Ledge School cafeteria preparing and serving lunch.    For many years, Millie was co-owner of the Fashion Gallery in Seymour. She was also a longtime rental office manager of Beacon Mill Village in Beacon Falls. Millie was member of St. Michael’s Church, where she was active in the Ladies Guild organizing and participating in many church events, the choir, and was church organist for many years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and cake decorating, and playing cards with friends.

Millie cherished her role as the matriarch of a large, local family. Over the years, her and Ray’s home was lovingly treated as a gathering place for family and friends. Millie was always a generous host -  from annual summer pool parties complete with never-ending popsicles for the kids, to Christmas Eve celebrations with homemade pierogis.

Besides her husband Ray of 64 years, she is survived by her children, Richard Jurzynski and his wife Mary Jane of Plano, TX, Kathleen Conroy and her husband Edward of Bantam, Jeffrey Jurzynski and his wife Sharon of Beacon Falls, Raymond Jurzynski Jr. of Beacon Falls, and Christopher Jurzynski and his wife Cynthia of Beacon Falls, her brother John Proch and his wife Phyllis of Seymour, daughter-in-law Helen Ann Jurzynski of Beacon Falls, many nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law Dolores and Jackie.
