Ronald Peter Kopchak, age 83, beloved husband of the late Irma
(Ruggiero) Kopchak, passed away peacefully at Griffin Hospital in Derby
on Wednesday January 11, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Mr. Kopchak was born in Bridgeport, CT on September 26, 1933. A
longtime resident of Bridgeport, he retired from the construction
industry as a bricklayer. He proudly served in the United States Army.
Ronald is survived by his children, Richard Ruggiero and his fiancé
Laurel of Oxford, Robert Ruggiero and his wife Gabriella of Arlington,
VA., and Carol Work and her husband Wayne of Naugatuck with whom he resided,
5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Lawrence and Leo Veilleux and sisters Marie Compare and
Dorothy Martin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday January 17, 2017 at
11:00am at St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, 25 Maple Ave., Beacon
Falls. Calling hours will be held Tuesday morning at the Naugatuck
Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main
Street, Naugatuck From 9:00am to 10:30am. Burial will follow in Gate of
Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made
to Griffin Hospital Hospice Unit 144 Division St. Derby, CT 06418.
