Rosalie (Farrar) Cantoni

Naugatuck: Rosalie “Rose” Cantoni age 82 of Little River Drive, peacefully left this earth on Monday, April 16, 2018 to be reunited with her loving husband Joseph Cantoni, Sr.  Born August 3, 1935 to the late Benjamin and Camille (Pascucci) Farrar.  She was raised in Naugatuck and graduated from Naugatuck High School as well St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing. She was a third Order Carmelite and volunteered for Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity in the Bronx, NY.  She loved traveling the world on many religious pilgrimages including Medjugorje, Fatima, Lourdes, Jerusalem and Italy.  She enjoyed playing the piano and often was the accompanist for many masses. She treasured time with her 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.              

She is survived by her 6 children: Joe Jr. and his wife Paula of Maryland, Jim Sr. and his wife Jackie of Glastonbury, CT. and sons Bob and Paul, both of Naugatuck, his two daughters, Susan Ferreira and her husband Remie, Sr. of Terryville, CT and Mary Johnson and her husband Theron of Thomaston, CT.  She had 14 grandchildren- Remie, Jr., Tamara, Micaela, Nicole, James Jr., Theron III, Sam, Christian, Nathan, Danielle, Nicholas, Veronica, Gabrielle and Gianna. Along with 3 great-grandchildren- Asher, Norah and Micaiah.  She is predeceased by her brother Louis. 

Friends are invited to join the family on Saturday, April 21 from 8:30 – 9:30 am at Naugatuck Valley Memorial Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck, CT.  A mass of Christian service will be directly following at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck.
