Naugatuck-Ruby M. (Bird) DePalma, age 83, widow of Frederick F. DePalma, passed away on Thursday February 26, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital.
Mrs. DePalma was born in Naugatuck, CT on December 8, 1931, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Bird. A lifelong resident of Naugatuck, she retired as a nurse’s aide from Whitewood Manor Nursing Home in Waterbury. She was a member of the Pine Brook Assembly of God. She enjoyed her 2 pet yorkies, traveling, and spending time socializing with her friends at McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts.
Ruby is survived by her son John Owens of Naugatuck; her sister Mary Louise Bird of Naugatuck; her 2 brothers, William Bird of Maine and Joseph Bird of Naugatuck; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11:30a.m. at the Pine Brook Assembly of God, 175 City Hill Street, Naugatuck. Visitation will be held from 10a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
