Walter Bodyk

Naugatuck-Walter Bodyk, age 88, husband of the late Lucy (Berardi) Bodyk, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 4, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital VITAS unit.

Walter was born in Jersey City, NJ on March 31, 1927, son of the late Nicholas and Tekla (Karlak) Bodyk.  A lifelong resident of Naugatuck, he retired from Farrell Foundry in Ansonia after many years of service.  He had a love for hunting, fishing, hiking and music, and proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Navy.

Mr. Bodyk is survived by several nieces and nephews.  He was not only an uncle, but a father figure to Angel and Jody Ash of Prospect, with whom he resided.  Walter was a grandfather to Tracy and Jeffery Varesio and Karen and Jason Bouffard and their families.  He was predeceased by his two sisters, Mary Biela and Helen Hurt Narramore.

His funeral will be held on Saturday November 7, 2015 at 10a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck.
