PROSPECT-William B. Fowler, 52, passed away peacefully Monday, January 9, 2017, at the Veterans Hospital in West Haven, after a long illness. Bill was born on September 21, 1964, in Waterbury. He was the son of the late Edward Fowler.

Bill graduated from Kaynor Technical School, and served in the United States Navy. He worked as a mechanic for most of his life, most recently for Winter Bros. in Danbury. In his younger years, he was a long time member of the Prospect Drum Corps.

Always ready with a smile, Billy was a real sweetheart, always making you laugh with his quick wit and outrageous sense of humor. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, NASCAR, and his beloved Red Sox. Bill was always ready to spend time with his family and friends, but his most favorite thing to do was to watch his sons play baseball and basketball.

Bill was the former husband of Andra (Ash) Fowler of Watertown. He leaves two sons Ryan J. Fowler and Brett E. Fowler, also of Watertown. He also leaves his loving mother Jane C. Fowler of Prospect, his sister Susan Fowler and her husband Victor Stanwick of Staten Island NY, his brother Thomas Fowler and Joy Marty of Stateline NV, his sister Jan DeCavage and Stan Popowski of Prospect, and his brother Mark Fowler of Plymouth NH. Among his survivors, he leaves his nieces Jacquelyn and her husband Eric O’Keefe, Rachel DeCavage and Adam Piteo, and Suzanne and her husband David Sebastian,  and also Sophia Leidy of Naugatuck.  He also leaves his nephews Devin Fowler of NH, Alec Ash of Wolcott, and his grandnieces Alaina and Ellie O’ Keefe and grandnephew Edward Sebastian, all of whom he so adored.

Billy’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at the West Haven Veterans Hospital for their care and compassion during Bill’s extended stay.
