James Paulella, Jr. Obituary

 

Prospect-James Paulella Jr., age74, passed away February 16, 2018, at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his family.  Jim was born July 8, 1943 in Waterbury to the late James and Marie (Davino) Paulella.  James was the loving husband of Nancy (Ricciardi) Paulella for 51 years.

 

James was a tool maker for Risdon Manufacturing and Eyelet Crafters for over 40 years.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing pool at the Prospect Senior Center with his friends.  Jim enjoyed UCONN Women’s basketball, New York Giants, Yankees and his time at Rhode Island beaches. James was quick-witted, enjoyed crossword puzzles, cribbage and a good card game.  James was deeply loved by his children and grandchildren; he will be missed dearly my all who knew him.

 

 James is survived by his loving wife Nancy and three children; James Paulella and wife, Patricia (Didato) Paulella, Lynn Paulella Beard and husband, Matthew Beard, and Lori Paulella Sconziano, and husband, Alex Sconziano.  In addition, he leaves his sister, Sister Jeanne Paulella, and sister in law Patricia Messier, and dear family friend, Sister Sandra Shaw of The Sisters of Saint Joseph.  He was loved by his grandchildren Matthew, Jimmy, Nicolas, Joseph, Gavin and Vivian.  He will be missed by his many cousins, nieces and nephews. James is predeceased by his sisters, Elizabeth Paulella Minese (Jesse), and Josephine Paulella Lord Testa (Sal). 

 

Family and friends may call Tuesday February 20, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck.  A  Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday February 21, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery. Thank you to those who have provided care to James at St. Mary’s Hospital, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation at Waterbury Hospital, the Harold Leever Center, and his personal doctors.  Thank you to the Sisters of Saint Joseph for their continued love, support and prayers.
