Anne Lally Obituary

A new angel was directly welcomed into Heaven with the passing of Anne (Trotta) Lally of Wolf Hill Rd Wolcott, on January 26th at Cheshire Regional Rehab. Anne was born in Waterbury, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Faimali) Trotta. She attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and Sacred Heart High School and graduated Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing with a R.N. Diploma. She began her nursing career at Waterbury Hospital and spent several years at a variety of nursing homes in the city ending her career at Rose Manor Retirement home here in Waterbury. Anne later became employed at Derouin’s Florist for several years and worked at our family owned florist called “The Flower Garden.” She also served as one of the parish secretaries at St Francis Xavier Rectory with its Pastor Rev. Paul Pace, she truly loved these years.

Anne was a very active and involved member of St. Francis Xavier Parish. She was a past Eucharistic Minister, co-chaired the annual “Giving Tree” project each Christmas, became involved with a very active prayer line and participated for many years in the annual parish minstrel. She also served on the Social Justice Ministry Committee.

Anne had an exceptionally strong faith, which she often depended upon during times of illness. She was determined to survive each obstacle facing her and shared her most positive outlook with all. She was a loving, kind, and compassionate wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She wore a constant smile on her face and people, in return, gave that happiness back to her.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, J. Brian Lally, a daughter, Mari (Bill) Adanosky of Naugatuck and a son Sean (Monica) Lally of Naugatuck. She also leaves the “loves of her life,” her three grandchildren, Ian Lally, Aidan Adanosky, and Faith Lally. She leaves one brother, Joseph (Jeanne) Trotta of Wethersfield, a nephew and several nieces, all of whom were special to her. She also leaves behind a strong circle of friends, her bestest friend Judy Derouin and  including her lifelong friend and travel buddy Kathie Boucher.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary Trotta, a brother, John Trotta, her in-laws, John and Shirley Lally and her brother in-law and sister in-law, Susan Hamel, and David Breitenbach. She will also be joined in her heavenly home by many aunts, uncles and DEAR FRIENDS.

The family wishes to express a most sincere and appreciative thank you to her Doctors- Dr. A. Palesty, Dr. C. Whittaker, Dr. G. Colodner, Dr. E. Quinn and Dr. A. Kim, nurses and unit clerk from Waterbury Hospital Outpatient Medical Therapy Unit- Moira, Linda, Mary-Jo, Terry, Jane, and Ruthie, as well as her home healthcare workers, most especially her longtime caretaker and “sister” friend Patricia Fenwick.
