Anne (Janus) Stevens

Beacon Falls-Anne (Janus) Stevens, age 90, widow of Eugene Stevens, passed away peacefully at Beacon Brook Health Center on Saturday May 12, 2018.

Mrs. Stevens was born in Naugatuck on June 17, 1927, daughter of the late Michael and Helen (Jerema) Janus.  She graduated from the University of Bridgeport School of Nursing and retired from Yale New Haven Hospital, where she worked as a nurse for many years.  Anne lived in Beacon Falls since 1955.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who took great care in raising her family.  She was also a gifted seamtress.

She leaves her son Robert Stevens and his wife June of Milford; her daughter Susan Sousa of Naugatuck; her sister Irene Broderick of Naugatuck; her five grandchildren; her two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  Anne was predeceased by  seven brothers and sisters, and her son in law, Philip Sousa.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 16, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck.  Burial will be in Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family.  To send an on-line condolence, please visit www.naugatuckvalleymemorial.com
