Naugatuck- Frederick “Fred” Valiante, passed peacefully on November 29, 2018 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by members of his family.
Fred was first and foremost a dedicated family man, a proud veteran of the Air Force, a loyal friend to countless, and a proud supporter of charitable organizations that served the poor and disenfranchised. He graduated from Bryant College with a degree in Accounting, and worked for many years for the state of Connecticut.
He is survived by his brother Mario Valiante of Naugatuck; his sister Lucy Rosa of Waterbury, former wife Joanne (Bosco) Valiante, and their three children, Mary Houle, Beth Lynn, and Gio Valiante; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
He was a man of deep Christian faith and proudly attended St. Francis of Assisi Church in Naugatuck. His humor, huge personality and big heart will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
His funeral will be held on Saturday December 1, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Spring Lake Road, Waterbury. Calling hours will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Members of the Naugatuck Veterans Council will meet at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
