Prospect-Janet G. (Gesek) Wisneski, age 94, widow of John T. Wisneski, passed away of Friday May 25, 2018 at West Hartford Health and Rehabilitation Center,
Mrs. Wisneski was born in Seymour, CT on August 17, 1923, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kolman) Gesek. A longtime resident of Prospect, she retired from the Prospect School System after 25 years of service working in the school cafeteria. Janet was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and a member of the Seymour Seniors. She enjoyed gardening, and was proud of her Polish heritage.
She is survived by her son, Dr. John T. Wisneski, Jr. and his wife Susan of Pittsburgh, PA; her daughter Dorothy Field and her husband Robert of West Hartford; her two grandchildren, Jonathan Kriss and his wife Lauren, and Matthew Wisneski; her step grandchildren, Gabrielle, Raina and her husband Jeremy, and Robert; her step great grandchildren, Logan and Derek; and several nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her brother Joseph Gesek and sisters, Helen Kowal and Frances Gesek.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday May 29, 2018 at 10: 30 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck, to St. Anthony’s Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Seymour. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday morning from 9- 10: 30 a.m. at the funeral home.
