Zulmira (Duarte) Pinheiro

Naugatuck-Zulmira (Duarte) Pinheiro, age 96, widow of Jose Pinheiro, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday January 24, 2019.

Mrs. Pinheiro was born in Portugal on November 9, 1922, daughter of the late Teodoro and Anna Duarte.  She resided with her family in Naugatuck since 1985, and was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.  She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

Zulmira leaves her children, Abel Pinheiro of Livingston, NJ, and Maria "Esperansa"  Magalhaes and her husband Carolino of Naugatuck; her two brothers Teodoro Duarte, and Manuel Duarte and his wife Rosa; her three sisters Albina Cruz, Deolinda and Isabel; her granddaughter Paula Magalhaes Coelho; her great grandchildren; Aiden and Landon Coelho; and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her brother Antonio Duarte and her sister Maria Duarte.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 28, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin Street, Waterbury.  Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.  There are no calling hours.  To send an on-line condolence, please visit www.naugatuckvalleymemorial.com.  The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck, is assisting the family with arrangments.
