Naugatuck- Joseph Stephen Kubeck Sr 91, of Naugatuck, died Monday, December 31st at St. Mary’s Hospital Vitas Hospice after a brief illness. He was the widower of Jennie (Caparaso) Kubeck.
Joseph was born November 28th, 1927 in Duryea, Pennsylvania, son of the late Stephen and Catherine Kubick. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1944 to 1946 and the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1947. He was a service worker for Uniroyal in the Footwear Division. He was a founding parishioner of St. Vincent Ferrer Church. He loved to watch sports and was a N.Y. Giants and N.Y. Yankees fan.
Joseph leaves son Joseph S. Kubeck Jr. (Sharon) of Bristol, daughters Joann Pompa of Phoenix, Arizona, Janet (Paul) Tropeano of Naugatuck; brothers Alvin (Vicky) Kubick of Falls, Pennsylvania, Raymond (Tammy) Kubick of Naugatuck, sister Catherine DiVito of Waterbury, and sister-in-law Alta Kubick of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind grandchildren Dana (Chase) Johnson, Samantha (Shean) Layton, and Katherine (David) Pasko, John-Michael Tropeano, and great-grandchildren Hudson, Joley, August, Mila, Lillian, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Paul Kubick.
Joseph’s family would like to express thanks to Drs. Fecteau, Tremaglio, and Matusz, his special caregiver Maria, and the staff of St Mary’s Hospital Vitas Hospice for their compassion and care.
ARRANGEMENTS- Funeral will leave the Naugatuck Valley Memorial Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street Naugatuck Friday at 9:00 A.M. for St. Vincent Ferrer Church Naugatuck for Mass at 10:00. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street Naugatuck. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M .
