Naugatuck-Mary (Kirdzik) Zdrodowski, age 102, widow of Frank Zdrodowski, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 15, 2018 at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born in Naugatuck, CT on July 19, 1916, daughter of the late Joseph and Constance (Iwzka) Kirdzik. A longtime Naugatuck resident, Mary retried from Peter Paul Company after many years of service. She was a communicant of St. Hedwig Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and Catholic War Veterans Gold Star Post. She enjoyed walking, reading, and puzzles. Mary was an excellent cook and baker, and she especially loved preparing the traditional Polish recipes. She was always up on current events and could talk to anyone about anything. In the words of her family, she was the most perfect person ever.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Lee Lutes and her husband Dr. Richard Lutes of Southbury; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, John, and Steven Kirdzik; and her best friend Julia Kirdzik.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday August 18, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck, to St. Hedwig Church, 32 Golden Hill Street, Naugatuck, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.
