Peggy Ruggiero

Peggy Ruggiero, 65, of Bethany, Connecticut, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018.

Born October 28, 1952 in Goshen, New York, to Dorothy Space and Fred Harrison, Peggy was the kindest, most loving individual who brought joy and spirit to all who knew her. Peggy received a Master’s of Psychology, after which she worked as a social worker and particularly loved working with those patients that others find frequently the most difficult. With her compassion, and gentle caring and respect she brought comfort, laughter, and hope to them as she would to so many others whose lives she touched throughout her life. Peggy married Mark Ruggiero in 1982, and together they raised two loving children, Michael and Julia. She was completely devoted to her family and friends and esteemed as a partner, mother, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend by many.

All who knew Peggy and Mark as a couple deeply admired their endless supply of love and compassion for each other. Their love and her family and friends’ love for her lives on through the infinite beauty of the gardens that Peggy and Mark created together. Peggy’s joie de vivre could not be mistaken, and with it she touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be missed, remembered, and loved every day.

The funeral service will be private and held at the discretion of the family. Any contributions in her memory should be sent to the charities that were particularly important to her in her life: Planned Parenthood, the Environmental Defense Fund, and the Children’s Fund.
