Albertina (Vaz) Campos

Naugatuck - Albertina (Vaz) Campos, widow of Manuel M. Campos, passed away peacefully on Sunday September 3, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital VITAS Innovative Care Unit surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Campos was born in Portugal on July 7, 1938, daughter of the late Domingos and Amelia (Silva) DaSilva.  Albertina was a longtime resident of Naugatuck and was a devout parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church.  She retired from St. Mary’s Hospital after twenty years of service.  She enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her loving family, and treasured her role as grandma.

She leaves her children, Piedade ‘Debbie’ Monteiro and her husband José Carlos Monteiro of Naugatuck, Domingos Campos and Cidalia Baiao of Naugatuck; her grandchildren, Carlos Monteiro and his wife Jordana Dixon, Monica Dmuchowski and Erik, Kaitlin Campos, Paulo Monteiro, and Alexander Campos; her great-grandchildren, Sofia, Lucas, and Logan; her brother Alfredo DaSilva of Portugal; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Maria Campos and her great-grandson Nelson.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday September 6, 2023 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck.
