Manolis "Steve" Triantafillos Obituary

Waterbury-Manolis “Steve” Triantafillos, age 100, devoted husband of the late Mildred (Mott) Triantafillos, passed away peacefully at the Village at East Farms on Saturday March 27, 2021.  They were married for more than 73 years.

Born in Manchester, NH on December 1, 1920, he was the son of the late Stavros and Lemonia (Manalou) Triantafillos.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War II.   Steve retired from American Brass in Waterbury after more than 30 years of service, working as a mechanical engineer.  Steve lived a remarkable life, would do anything for his family and was proud of his Greek heritage.  He was a master builder and craftsman and could do anything he set his mind to.  He built many boats, cabins, motor homes, and more during his life.  He loved traveling, cruising, fishing, sailing, and went cross country for many summers.  Millie and Steve cruised all over the Caribbean and Mediterranean.  He loved to spend family time on Kelsey Island in the cabin he had built.

Manolis leaves his children; his son Robert (Nancy) Triantafillos of Oxford; his daughters, Elaine Payne of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Catherine (Joseph) Antonelli of Bethany; his sister Despina Hallock of Waterbury; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his son Steven Triantafillos, and daughter Barbara Nafpliotis.
