Stella M. (Mychaskiw) Jasinski

Naugatuck-Stella M. Jasinski, age 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 5, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

She was born in Montreal, Canada on April 28, 1935, daughter of the late Stanley and Magdelena (Somyk) Mychaskiw.  Stella was a longtime resident of Naugatuck and was retired from the Borough of Naugatuck.

Stella leaves her family, Frances Palomba and her husband John of Westbrook, Janice L. Jasinski of Naugatuck, and Anthony J. Jasinski of Livingston, Texas ; her grandchildren Carl Taggett, his wife Jessica and their children Charlie and Olivia, Robert J. Taggett and his wife Tatiana and their son Jason, Jessica Jasinski and her children Janalyse and Andres, and Leigha and Ava Jasinski.  Stella is also survived by her fiancé Fred Sargeant, and by Chuck Speruzzi, whom she considered as her other son.

Stella enjoyed being with her family more than anything.  Her big holiday was Christmas Eve, when the whole family and her close friends gathered to celebrate with her.

She was an excellent cook and her specialties were pierogi, kielbasa and cabbage, golompki, and her famous cheesecake.

She also loved to relax at home with her grandchildren Leigha and Ava, who were with “grandma” daily, her dog Missy and her computer games.

Stella’s sharp wit and her quick comebacks will surely be missed.  She brightened up a room with her smile wherever she was and always thought of others first.  Stella had a heart of gold and will be remembered with love, some great stories, and very fond memories.
