Acacio R. Morgado Obituary

 

Naugatuck-Acacio R. Morgado, husband of the late Isabel (Neves) Morgado, passed away peacefully on Friday July 19, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital VITAS Innovative Care unit.

 

He was born in Portugal on September 12, 1930, son of the late Antonio and Herminia (Enriques) Morgado.  Acacio came to the United States in 1973 with his family and settled in Naugatuck.  He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing and all animals, especially his cats.

 

He leaves his family to honor his memory, Benvinda Sengupta and her husband Dipankar of Portugal, Acacio Morgado and his wife Ana Alves Morgado of South Carolina, Ana Pereira and her husband Louis of New Jersey, and Paula Hoponick of Torrington; his four grandchildren Tina, Sonia, Christopher and Lauren; and his two great grandchildren Jack and Ace.

 

The Morgado family wishes to thank the staff at Beacon Brook Health Center and St. Mary’s Hospital VITAS unit for the kind and compassionate care given to Acacio during his illness.
