OAKVILLE- Anna K. Szepel, 87, of Oakville, died Friday January 8th, 2021 at her sons home in Bethlehem surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Wasyl Szepel.
Anna was born in Waterbury Ct. January 21, 1933, daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Granatuck) Kobzar. She was a graduate of Wilby High School and Miss Porter’s Business School. She worked as a dispatcher at CL&P for fifteen years and Yankee Gas for ten years until her retirement.
Anna was a longtime parishioner of St Mary’s Orthodox Church, and a member of St Olga’s Sisterhood. She was also a member of the Waterbury R Club.
Anna leaves son and daughter in law William and Elizabeth Szepel of Bethlehem, son John-Paul Szepel of Oakville, grandson Steven Szepel of Torrington, and granddaughter Natasha Taylor and her husband Budd of Delaware. She was predeceased by her brother Harry Kobzar.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday January 15, 2021 at the funeral home followed by graveside services St. Marys Russian Orthodox Cemetery in Waterbury.
