Naugatuck-Bernard Snopkowski, Jr., 72, passed away peacefully at home on March 26, 2026.
He was born on September 1, 1953, son of the late Bernard and Dorothy (Shemanski) Snopkowski. He attended Naugatuck Public Schools and graduated in 1971 from Naugatuck High School. He earned a degree in math and graduated magna cum laude from Providence College.
Ross Perot and Electronic Data Systems provided him with many job opportunities on the West Coast where he lived for 30 years before returning to Naugatuck. Bernie was an extensive traveler having visited 50 states, 30 countries and 6 continents.
He also had numerous interests, inculuding gardening, collecting coins and trains, building models, reading and just being with family. Bernie was quite a character with a big heart which all who knew him can attest to. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his sister Joan (Jim) Mahan; brothers David (Gail) Snopkowski, and John (Nancy) Snopkowski; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday April 4, 2026 from 9-11 a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck.
