Waterbury-Chester H. “Butch” Grendzisiewski, age 82, beloved husband of Marie (Wabiszczewicz) Grendzisiewski, passed away Wednesday May 22, 2024 at Hartford Hospital. They would have been married 45 years this August 31st.
He was born in Waterbury, CT on December 8, 1941, son of the late Chester H. and Helen (Zembruski) Grendzisiewski. Chet was a lifelong Waterbury resident and retired from Anchor Stamping after 35 years of dedicated service. He had also worked as an officer for the Naugatuck Police Department from 1975-1985. He played in the Anchor Fastener golf and softball League for 30 years, played softball in the Industrial Recreation League, and enjoyed many trips to the casinos in Connecticut and Las Vegas. Chet was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
In addition to his wife Marie to honor his memory, he leaves his daughter Lisa (Brenneman) Spear and her husband Tim of Wolcott; his grandchildren Raquelle Brenneman and Austin Brenneman and his wife Kara; his step grandsons Tim Spear, Jr. and Jay Spear; his great grandsons Mason Perez, Brody and Braden Spear; his brother Thomas Grendzisiewski and his wife Linda of Southbury; his nieces Tammy Pazdan (Chris)and Jessica Fair (Maurice), and Jonte Hofler (Anthony); his nephews Ryan Grendzisiewski (Angela), Keith Wabiszczewicz (Jenn), and Michael Forbes, Jr.; grand- nephews Justin and Elijah Fair, Ryan Grendzisiewski, Jr.; grand- nieces Ny’Asia Fair, Abriella and Cassidy Forbes, Alani Hofler; and his sisters in law Helene and Greg Cannady and Maryse Bolduc.
Visitation will be held on Friday May 31, 2024 from 9-11 a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck.
