Naugatuck-David George Spakowski, beloved husband of Margaret "Peggy" Spakowski passed away on Monday June 8, 2026,at his home. He was 72 years old.
Born in Waterbury, CT on December 24, 1953, he was the son of the late George Spakowski from Oxford and Joan Fischer from Beacon Falls. David lived in Ansonia and Shelton before becoming a longtime resident of Naugatuck for forty years. David worked for Sargent Assa Alboy in New Haven as a draftsman/CAD. He also worked for Hamilton Standard, Ultra Electronics in Wallingford for 12 years, and Macton in Oxford. He attended Porter and Chester in Bridgeport for CAD/Engineering certificate. Dave loved to fish and enjoyed nature, bird watching, and listening to 70’s rock music. He was also an avid New York Giants fan.
He was married to his wife Peggy for 37 years. In addition to his wife, David leaves several cousins, nieces, nephews, close friends and surviving companion cat Misty who had brought him enjoyable entertainment and love. He was predeceased by his brother Scott Spakowski.
Visitation will be held on Friday June 19, 2026 from 4-6 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck. A funeral service will be held on Saturday June 20, 2026 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in Grove Cemetery.
