Glastonbury- Mr. Dominic Persutti, formerly of Naugatuck, died peacefully in his sleep on February 20, 2019. He was 95 years old. Mr. Persutti was born in Ansonia to the late Pasquale and Mary Persutti and was the husband of the late Julia A. Persutti for whom he cared devotedly in the last years of her illness. He was truly a saint.
Dominic retired from the Naugatuck Chemical after more than thirty years and then spent many happy years as a snow bird in Florida with his wife. He loved playing golf with his buddies, doing crossword puzzles, going to tag sales and reading about politics. He was very proud of his military service as a PFC in the United States Army during WW II as part of “The Greatest Generation” and attended many reunions with his fellow veterans. He was also proud of his three college-educated daughters about whom he bragged regularly. He was equally proud of his grandson and granddaughter.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother Anthony [Pamela] Persutti of VA, his sisters Josephine and Santina Persutti, both of CT, his daughters, Patricia [Doug] McMahon of NJ, Judyann [Philip} Faticanti of CT, and Mary-Lou [George] Collon of FL, his grandson Dr. Rand Dannenberg of CA and his granddaughter Jessica Faticanti of CT. He is also survived by his great granddaughter Rachel Dannenberg and his three nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday February 25, 2019 from 12-1 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck. Members of the Naugatuck Veterans Council will meet at 12:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dominic’s name to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russel Road, Newington, Ct 06111 or the American Heart Association, 1 Union St., Suite 301 Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
