Naugatuck-Dorothy (Shemanski) Snopkowski, age 93, widow of Bernard Snopkowski, Sr., passed away peacefully on Thursday November 3, 2022 at Waterbury Hospital.
Born in Avoca, PA on September 28, 1929, she was the daughter of Henry and Stella (Konopinski) Shemanski. Dorothy was a longtime resident of Naugatuck and retired from Risdon Manufacturing. She enjoyed cards, bingo, jigsaw puzzles and solving crossword puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Dorothy leaves her loving family, Joan Mahan and her husband James of Litchfield, Bernard Snopkowski, Jr. of Naugatuck, David Snopkowski and his wife Gail of Lebanon, and John Snopkowski and his wife Nancy of Naples, FL; her six grandchildren, Terry, Krista, Jill, Sarah, Jamie and TJ; her five great grandchildren, Claire, Luke, Jamie, Thomas, and Charlotte; her brothers Chester Shemanski of Duryea, PA, and Frank Shemanski of Naugatuck; her sister Ann Tickowski, of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, John, Joseph, Henry, Frances and Lillian.

Her funeral will be held on Monday November 7, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck, to St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Monday morning from 9-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
