Naugatuck-Frank D. Vitale, age 89, passed away on Sunday June 12, 2022 at Waterbury Hospital.
Born in Bridgeport, CT on November 20, 1932, he was the son of Sabatino and Josephine Vitale. Frank was a longtime Naugatuck resident and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an aeronautical draftsman for Avco Lycoming for several years and was known as a jack of all trades. He loved photography and fixing things, and sometimes he would take items apart even if nothing was wrong just to see how the insides worked and put them back together.
Frank is survived by his former wife MaryAnn Cortina and their three sons and wives, Frank and Lisa, Carl and Tara, and Paul and Stephanie. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Lorenzo, Olivia, and Leo whom he loved dearly along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Peter and Anthony.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 22, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck.
