Waterbury-George J. Krawczyk, age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday July 5, 2021 at the Village at Kensington Place in Meriden.
Born in Drutte, West Germany on June 6, 1947, he was the son of the late Stanley and Nadia (Matushak) Krawczyk. He was a longtime resident of Waterbury and graduated from Western New England Collage, Springfield Mass. George retired as an accounting manager from Dana Corporation (Echlin) in Branford after many years of service. He was a member of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church in Waterbury.
He leaves his children, Eva Kawczynski and her husband Mark, Rachel Golebiewski and her husband Gene, and Eric Krawczyk and his fiancé Michele Mueller; his five grandchildren, Ally and Ashton Kawczynski, Gunner, Genna, and Gannon Golebiewski. George was predeceased by his sister Helen Matzkevich.
His funeral will be held on Friday July 9, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, 34 Fairview Avenue, Terryville. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Orthodox Cemetery, Stillson Road, Waterbury. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck.
