Naugatuck-Gerlanda Jean Amico, age 93, passed away at Cheshire House on April 19, 2020.
She was born in Enfield, CT on August 12, 1926, daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (Montagna) Amico. She graduated from Naugatuck High School and Post Business College. Jean retired from the Footwear Division of Uniroyal after working in managements for 36 years, and was a member of the Uniroyal Girls Club during that time. She was a member of the AARP, Evergreen Club 50, and the Naugatuck Senior Center where played Bingo with her friends on Friday. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church where she belonged to the Altar Society. Jean loved musicals, mysteries, reading, traveling, and growing flowers.
Jean is survived by her cousins, Salvatore Montagna and his wife Suzanne, and their son, Anthony Montagna, all of New Jersey; Edward Montagna and his wife Linda and their children, Daniel, Lilly, and Jodi, all of Massachusetts; John Montagna and his sons Michael and Christopher, and Meredeth and Robert Bishop, Jr. and family, and son Douglas Carter and his wife Kait. She was predeceased by her cousin Josephine Gibino.
