NAUGATUCK - Gertrude Cruz , 95, of Naugatuck, died peacefully Thursday, April 2nd, 2026 at her home. She was the widow of Luis Cruz Sr.
Gertrude was born March 17th, 1931, daughter of the late Pedro Rivera and Sabina Cruz. She was a resident of Naugatuck since 1998. She was retired from Bryant Electric in Bridgeport, where she had worked as an assembler.
Gertrude leaves her son Luis Cruz Jr. , daughters Aida Hernandez, Norma Cruz, Isabel Thomas, Maria Buccieri, Luisa Cruz and Helen Cruz, sister Carmen Rivera, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Carmen Moore and her sister Andrea Guerrero.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 8th, 2026 at 12:00 P.M. at Naugatuck Valley Memorial Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck . Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. To send an online condolence please visit www.naugatuckvalleymemorial.com
