Middlebury-Giles S. Wyant, Jr., age 78, husband of the late Rosemary Wyant, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday January 13, 2024.

Born in Torrington, CT on June 15, 1945, he was the son of the late Samuel and Lucille (Casivant) Wyant.  He was a longtime Middlebury resident and had worked for the Park and Recreation Department for the Town of Woodbury.  Giles enjoyed nature, long walks in the woods, ice skating and dirt biking.  His true passion was writing poetry and spending time with his family.

He leaves his children; Jennifer McGovern, Samuel Wyant, Colleen Wyant, Rose Phaneuf, Dallas Wyant, Katie Wyant, John and Jerrett Wyant; his sister Peggy Wyant; his seventeen grandchildren; his great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.  Giles was predeceased by his sisters Barbara and Lucille.
