Orange-Helen Francis (Lasky) Melchiore, age 86, widow of Salvatore J. Melchiore, Sr., passed away Monday September 20, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Born in Waterbury, CT on November 15, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John and Adele (Gabris) Lasky. She lived in Orange since 1968, and had worked for the Town Accounting Department until her retirement in 2004. When Helen wasn't travelling, she could be found enjoying classic films and Elvis Presley music. She was a recognized expert in 1950's movie trivia and watched golf whenever she could. Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Helen leaves her sister, Irene Klotz with her children Lonnie, Ricky, and Cindi. Helen leaves her loving children; Marla Polites, Salvatore J. Melchiore, Jr. and his wife Kersti, and John Melchiore; her grandchildren, Sydney and Zachary Melchiore, Mason and Maverick Melchiore, Taryn Donnarummo and her husband Stephen, Arielle Polites and her husband James Neurath, and Britney Polites Gordon and her husband Sean Gordon; her great-grandchildren, Eliana and Gabriella Donnarummo; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday September 25, 2021 from 9-11 a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck, followed by a memorial and burial at St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck.
