Waterbury-Helen M. (Kalita) Wilkowski, age 96, loving wife of the late Stanley J. Wilkowski, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday February 7, 2025.

Born in Waterbury, CT on July 3, 1928, she was the daughter of Stanley and Mary (Wochniak) Kalita.  Helen was a graduate of Wilby High School and a lifetime Waterbury resident.  She was the co-owner of Stanley’s Auto Body in Waterbury with her husband, which opened on April 1st 1947. Helen worked at the shop as a bookkeeper until her retirement at the age of 90.  She was a longtime communicant of St. Stanislaus  Kostka Church until its closing, where she was an active member of the Ladies Guild and bowling league.  Helen was also a member of the Washington School PTA.  Her priority in life was her children and family, whom she loved dearly.  She loved nothing more than having family gatherings during the holidays with her children and grand kids.

She leaves her family to cherish her memory; her sons Michael Wilkowski and his wife Patricia of Sandy Hook, Mark Wilkowski and his wife Lynn of Waterbury, and Walter Wilkowski and his partner Lori McDonald of Wolcott; her daughter Marcia Santos and her husband Joseph of Waterbury; her three grandchildren, Stephen Wilkowski, Samantha Morales, and Bradley Santos; her great grandson Liam Morales; and several nieces and nephews.
