Jeanne (Gliford) Bigert Obituary

Naugatuck-Jeanne (Gliford) Bigert, widow of Frank Bigert, passed away peacefully at the Lutheran Home of Southbury on March 2, 2026 at the age of 93.

 

Born in New York on January 1, 1933, she was daughter the late Joseph Nazolich and Edith (Gliford) Mahoney.  She was a longtime Naugatuck resident.  Jeanne was an avid fan of UCONN women’s basketball.  She was affectionately known as the “Neighborhood Baker” during her younger years for her famous specialty baked goods.

 

Jeanne leaves her family to honor her memory, sons Kevin and Steven Bigert, both of Naugatuck; her grandchildren Jessical Lynn, Christopher, and Corey; and her great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her daughter Wendy Bigert.
