Naugatuck-Jennie “Janina” (Rutkowski) Rybicki, age 100, widow of Henry Rybicki, passed away peacefully on Monday December 9, 2024 at St. Mary’s Hospital VITAS unit.

She was born in Poland on July 25, 1924, daughter of the late Michael and Alexandria Rutkowski.  She came to the United States from Poland with her family in 1959 and settled in Naugatuck.  Jennie retired from The Naugatuck Glass Company.  She was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Hedwig Church and the parish Ladies Guild until its closing.  She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, but her family was of the utmost importance to her.

She leaves her family to cherish her memory, daughters Christine Rybicki of Naugatuck and Elizabeth Urbon of Seymour and Vitold Rybicki (Adita) of Dorr, Michigan; her grandchildren Thomas Urbon, Jr.(Dana) and Vitold Rybicki, Jr. (Courtney); her loving great grandchildren Riley Urbon and Adiah and Khyus Rybicki; and several nieces and nephews.  Jennie was predeceased by her brothers John and Zigmund Rutkowski; her sister Stella Pistritto; and her granddaughter Jennifer Andreas (Benjamin); and son in law Thomas Urbon, Sr.

Her funeral will be held on Friday December 13, 2024 at 9 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck, to St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.  Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.  To send an-online condolence or share a memory, please visit www.naugatuckvalley memorial.com.
