Naugatuck-Jose Simoes, beloved husband of Lucy (Boyadjian) Simoes, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at St. Mary’s Hospital.  He was 83 years old.

He was born in Brazil on July 18, 1942 and immigrated to the United States as an adult where he worked for Uniroyal at that time and retired from Peter Paul Company after many years of service. He enjoyed gardening, trips to the casino, playing and watching soccer, and spending time with his family and friends.  He was a kind and gentle man who was loved by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife Lucy of 47 years, he leaves his loving family, son Sidney Simoes of New Milford and daughter Sandra Simoes Seefeldt and her husband Richard of Richmond, MA; his grandchildren Briana and Connor; his special niece Maria Martins and her husband Raul; his brothers and sisters of Brazil, and his sister Benedita Vaz of Florida and his nieces and nephews in Florida and many close friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday January 23, 2026 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street in Naugatuck.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck.  Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.  To send an on line condolence or share a memory, please visit www.naugagtuckvalleymemorial.com
