Naugatuck-Joseph S. Danielowski, age 93, beloved husband of the late Celestine “Celeste” (Lepisko) Danielowski, passed away on Thursday November 7, 2024.

Born on Scranton, PA on April 13, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Suchadowlska) Danielowski.  He was a graduate of Central High School in Scranton, Class of 1949, and resided in Naugatuck for over 60 years with his family.  Joseph retired from Sikorsky Aircraft in 1993 after many years of loyal service.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War, serving on the flight decks of the USS Bennington and USS Bonhomme Richard.  He traveled around the country and attended the USS Bennington reunions for many years.  He was also an avid baseball fan.

Joseph is survived by his loving family, daughter Lisa Gagain (Paul) of Middlebury; his sons Joseph Danielowski (Pam) of Thomaston, and Matthew Danielowski of Charlotte, NC; his granddaughters Lauren Danielowski of Hartford, and Julia Danielowski of Brooklyn, NY; and well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws and his good neighbors.  He was predeceased by his wife Celeste;  infant daughter Ann; brothers Kasimir, Stanley and Eddie Danielowski; and sisters Jean Eichorn, Mary Schlein, Helen Paris and Verna Leuthe.

Visitation will be held on Thursday November 14, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck.  Burial with military honors will be in St. James Cemetery.  To send an on-line condolence or share a memory, please visit www.naugatuckvalleymemorial.com.
