Waterbury-Judite “Judy” (Pinto) Fernandes, age 67, loving wife of Manuel Fernandes, passed away on Wednesday September 7, 2022 at Waterbury Hospital.

Born in Canedo, Ribeira De Pena, Portugal on May 28, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Joaquim and Carolina (Lopes) Pinto.  Judy lived in Waterbury for over 50 years and retired from EFC in Waterbury.  She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

Besides her husband Manny, she is survived by her daughter Laura Fernandes; her brother Pedro Lopes; her sisters, Teresa Alves and Cristina Apuzzo; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Judy was predeceased by her brothers Domingos and Antonio Pinto.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday September 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin Street, Waterbury.  Burial will be private.  The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck, is assisting the family with arrangements.  To send an on-line condolence, please visit www.naugatuckvalleymemorial.com
