WATERBURY- Katherine Alexandra Smick, 60, of Waterbury, died unexpectedly Thursday, August 15th, 2024 at Waterbury Hospital.

Katherine was born in Waterbury April 10th, 1964, daughter of the late Alexander A. and Barbara (Denton) Smick.  She was a graduate of Western Connecticut State University with a bachelor's degree in History. 

Katherine was very active in the St. Mary's Orthodox Church parish. 

She served as Choir Director and on the board of the Church Council.

Katherine leaves her brother and sister in law Alexander and Gail Smick of Southington, brother Michael  Smick of Waterbury, nephew Kyle Smick and niece Delaney Smick.

ARRANGEMENTS -  Funeral  Service will be held Thursday, August 22nd, 2024 at 11:00  A. M.  at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. Marys Orthodox Cemetery in Waterbury. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until time of service. Contributions: Humane Society at Ct humane.org.
