WATERBURY - Lidia Gomes Tavares,.95, of Waterbury, died peacefully Saturday, March 1st, 2025 at her home. She was the widow of Joao S. Tavares. 

Lidia was born in East Timor June 19th, 1929, daughter of the late Adriano Ramos and Maria Gertudes . She worked as an assembler at Bendix Aerospace in Cheshire  until her retirement.

Lidia was a hard worker and devoted to her family and her faith. She was a founding parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church, and watched Mass every day on the television.

Lidia leaves her two sons Alberto Tavares and Adriano Tavares, both of Waterbury; brother Enrique Ramos and sister Pricilia Fernandes , both of Portugal and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS- Funeral will leave Naugatuck Valley Memorial Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck Thursday, March 6th at 9:30 A.M. for Our Lady of Fatima Church in Waterbury for Mass at 10:00.  Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury.
