He was born November 13, 1919, and has resided in the city of Waterbury his entire life.    He was a graduate of B.W. Tinker Grammar School in 1935.  He spent 37 months overseas in the U.S. Army Co. From 1999-2010, he worked for GWIM’s (Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries) soup kitchen located at St. John’s Church until the age of 90.

Martin leaves behind his daughter and caregiver Lydia LeBlanc and husband Lawrence LeBlanc (predeceased); his two granddaughters, Stephanie Fusco and husband Thomas Fusco (predeceased) and Alison Tirado and husband George Tirado Jr; and his two great-grandchildren Anthony and Gabriella Tirado.   A special acknowledgement for his loved ones Barbara Ann, Darrell, and D.J. This man spent the majority of his life caring for others….he is an extraordinary example of what a true American and Waterburian is, and yet he is the one who felt truly blessed.
