Mildred (Matuszewski) Kevit Obituary

Beacon Falls-  Mrs. Mildred (Matuszewski) Kevit, 96, of Beacon Falls, died peacefully Monday,  October 6th, 2025 at her home. She was the widow of Eugene P. Kevit.

 

Mildred was born in Beacon Falls July 22nd, 1929, daughter of the late Alexander and Catherine ( Czarzasty) Matuszewski. She worked at Homer D. Bronson Co. in Production Control  before her retirement .  She was a parishioner of St. Michaels Church and served as a trustee. She was a member of the Phoenix Club, the Historical Society and the Beacon Falls Senior Center. Mildred volunteered at Sandwiches for Spooner House. She enjoyed Wii Bowling and had two 300 games to her credit. She was a fan of the UCONN Womens Basketball  Team.

 

Mildred leaves daughters and sons in law Nancy and John King and Susan and William Mis, all of Beacon Falls,  three grandsons Tim King and his wife Jen, Stephen Mis and John Michael Mis. She was predeceased by her brothers Mitchell Matthews, Eugene and Charles Matuszewski, and sisters Henrietta Vitali, Sophie Pysz, Tessie Korzen and Helen Matuszewski.

 

The  family would like to thank her caregiver and companion Claudette Morrison for the exceptional care she provided to Mildred.

 

ARRANGEMENTS - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 13th, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Michaels Church in Beacon Falls. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 9:00  A.M. until the start of service. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Contributions: Beacon Hose Company #1, 35 North Main Street, Beacon Falls, Ct. 06403.
